This group beat the heat Wednesday with a float down the Willamette river in Corvallis. Boaters must use personal flotation devices on the river however Benton County Marine Deputy Mark Luna comments that With inner tubes or pool toys you don't need a floatation device.

Members of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship gathered Thursday night for a vigil and public discussion of the attack at a Tennessee Unitarian Church last Sunday. About 75 people attended the event, and several people discussed their fear, frustration and dedication to continuing to be a welcoming place of worship.
